"By stimulating and directing positive, joyous feelings we can change the essence of our inner patterns and experience. When positive or joyous feelings and attitudes pass through each organ and circulate throughout our whole system, our physical and chemical energies are transformed and balanced".
Tarthang Tulku. Gesture of Balance
Depending on a clients needs, wants, desires and goals
Karen can 'tailor' sessions uniquely to you
For example, some clients come for basic and practical everyday life issues where counselling is most appropriate. Counselling is generally talk based with some non-verbal process where suitable and appropriate.
Other clients come to work on deeper emotional, psychological and energetic levels. This is where psychotherapy, somatics, and body centered process is more suitable and able to address deeper issues.
Some clients want to address philosophical, spiritual, worldview or religious concerns. This is where psychotherapy coupled with in-the-body experience is best suited.

humWAVE - incorporating therapeutic touch and energy/vibrational healing using voice, hands and energy
"Humming opens you. Opens your heart, opens your mind, increases what you can know and how profoundly you can know it. Humming helps to relax the trauma focus that tightens our range of attention. It helps to open our perception beyond the injuries of life".
Dr. Julie Henderson The Hum Book 2003
A humWAVE session allows you to return to a state of balance - a sense of your mind being clear, of spaciousness and having your emotions settle. Your body may experience deep rest and sensations of becoming recharged and revitalized. The humWAVE process is a synthesis of Karen's training and ongoing practice over the last 23 years in Eastern and Western traditions. From Japanese, Tibetan and Indian systems of understanding the body, mind and energy to Western scientific systems of physiology, anatomy and psychology. Sessions are 45 minutes. You simply need to wear loose, comfortable clothing as you spend approximately 30 minutes on your back on a comfortable massage table (see below for testimonials).
The process of humWAVE resonates through the cells of your body and invites letting go of the tendency to be other-and-outer directed and become inner-and-self-directed. The practice of turning inwards allows a greater sense of self to emerge. To learn to be in the world in an inner-directed way means we express our true selves with purpose and intention. Over time often painful and longstanding bodymind states begin to fall away and dissolve. For example, you may find yourself losing old habits, fear, procrastination, apathy, anger and so on. Physically you may notice change in chronic conditions right through to ease of bodily movement and wellbeing.
humWAVE treatments are especially helpful in working with the central nerous system and issues of vigilence. For symptoms associated with stress, anxiety, panic, post traumatic stress disorder, depression, shock, trauma, loss and grief a few humWAVE sessions can transform your inner state.
